President Fred shared these National Days and Days in History:
  • National BAO Day - Fred didn't elaborate exactly what BAO means so we didn't put on our party hats...
  • National Never Bean Better
  • National Tooth Fairy Day
On this Day in History
  • 1989 Nolan Ryan struck out his 500th batter and since the commissioner prohibited any celebratory event, the batter stood at the plate in his honor.
  • 1950 Althea Gibson becomes the first African-American on U.S. tennis tour.
  • 1864 International Red Cross was founded
President Fred offered some humor with
The last thing I want to do is hurt you...but it's still on my list.
Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
We never really grow up - we only learn how to act in public.

Club Lunch and Business Program
Belkis Lane shared her passion for the Culinary Arts and particularly how it changes many lives. Gary Rice, Culinary Academic Director of the Art Institute shared information about degreed programs available to students of all ages. A career in the Hospitality and Culinary Arts can bring a brighter future to individuals and families. This type of education stimulates a passion, better work habits, ethics, and is a win for both students and ultimately the nation. The Art Institute offers Diploma and Associate's programs in areas such as Food & Beverage Management, Resort Management, Culinary Management, Restaurant and Catering Degrees. We were excited to learn that during the school year the Art Institutes serves lunch between 11 - 1:30 Thursdays and Fridays. Reservations are recommended.
