Prayer, Pledge and Visitors
The meeting began with the ringing of the bell by President Fred Timmons.  Joe Montagna led us in a word of prayer and the pledge.  Bruce Richter observed that our guests from Girl Scouts US had no problem reciting the Texas Pledge by heart!

President Fred introduced our speakers and guests:
Kris Richter, son of Bruce & Gloria Richter who is a member of the Terry McGregor Rotary Club in North Carolina
Melissa Caplinger, Leader of Girl Scouts Troop 43 and three members of the Troup.
Matthew Sheehan, Campus Director of Galen College, guest of Ken Donoughue. Matthew is a prospective member for our Club.

President Fred shared some sad news: Long time Oak Hills Rotarian Ted Harwood passed away Sunday night. The family plans to have a private service on their ranch. Members of our Club shared fond memories of Ted.  He and his business partner Don Hill, local Veterinarians, were key to the wildly successful Shrimp Fest. They would fry fish and boil shrimp through the night before to prepare for the event.

Another of our Rotarian members, Chuck Steinmetz had a severe stroke Tuesday and is in the hospital. Please keep Chuck and his wife Jackie in your prayers. Chuck was very involved in the Oak Hills and Med Center Rotary Clubs for many years prior to having health issues.
