Prayer, Pledge and Visitors

Ken Donoughue is the guest writer for this week's bulletin. Mary Denton and hubby were hiking the Rockies and Bruce and Gloria Richter were on a river cruise.  Thank you Ken for taking notes and great pictures for this week's bulletin!

Vice President John Legris presided over the meeting. He also provided this day in history and these special days:
  • National Avocado Day
  • National Raspberry Cake Day
  • National Mutt Day

On this day in history Mt. Fuji erupted. Fun Fact:  Vice President John shared with us that he climbed Mt. Fuji in 1978!  It is 12,390 feet high.  He enjoyed watching the sun rise from the summit.

Fred Timmons provided humor for the day:

Friend, I recently spent $6,500 on a young registered Black Angus bull.  I put him out with the herd but he just ate grass and wouldn't even look at a cow.  I was beginning to think I had paid more for that bull than he was worth.  Anyhow, I had the vet come and have a look at him.  He said the bull was very healthy, but possibly just a little young, so he gave me some pills to feed him once per day.

The bull started to service the cows within two days, all my cows!  He even broke through the fence and bred with all of my neighbor's cows! He's like a machine!

I don't know what was in the pills the vet gave me for him but they kind of taste like peppermint.Allyson Hamlin introduced the speaker for the day:  Kathleen Gately and her two students Hudson and Caden.    Ms. Gately informed the club that she has been their sponsor for 10 years of the Kendall Robotics Team.  She said that the Team placed 6th last year and 4th the year before in the world competitions.  She shared with us that Kendall Robotics accept young persons from grades 9th through 12th grades.  Some exceptions have been made in the past.
