This Day in History
  •  In an unprecedented, highly coordinated attack, terrorists hijack four U.S. passenger airliners, flying two into the World Trade Center towers in New York and one into the Pentagon, killing thousands. The fourth airliner, headed toward Washington likely to strike the White House or Capitol, is crashed just over 100 miles away in Pennsylvania after passengers storm the cockpit and overtake the hijackers.
  •  US consulate in Benghazi, Libya, is attacked and burned down; 4 Americans are killed including the US ambassador, J. Christopher Stevens.

New Member Induction!
President Rick Tarbell wasted no time introducing Glenda Spears, club member candidate to the group! The board approved Glenda's nomination for membership and her sponsor is John Legris. Special guest speaker District Governor John Hutcherson did the honors of conducting her induction today!  John's comments were both enthusiastic and inspiring.  He encouraged Glenda to get involved in community service with Rotary, get to know the members, attend Rotary Leadership Institute to learn more about Rotary and meet other Rotarians. Glenda is a Pre Arrangement Advisor with the Neptune Society.  We feel like you're already one of us Glenda!  You've been a regularly attending guest for some time.  Welcome to Oak Hills Rotary!

Fred Timmons related this cautionary story from one of his CPA friends. (The CPA's) wife's purse was stolen along with her driver's license and debit card. The thief was able to go to her bank and the bank issued temporary checks putting her bank account at risk. If your debit card or driver's license is stolen notify the bank to lock down your bank account.
