Bruce Richter brought the presentation today focusing on the organizations that our club supports. It all began with the Shrimp Fest in 1989-90. That is when our Foundation began.  With the direction of wise members of the club, the monies were invested and have earned interest. Because of that, our club is able to help other organizations that our club supports and award scholarships every year. Some examples are: Polio Plus. Westside Girl Scouts Leadership Center Food Pantry, Girl Scouts Summer Camp. Earn-a-Bike Program, and the Ecumenical Center Pledge. Last year 18 scholarships were awarded to worthy Interact Rotary Club students. Thank you Bruce for this enlightening presentation and making us all aware of the great things that our club is doing!

The most recent donation from our club is in response to the Community Service Chair for our district, Rosie Ramirez. "We are supporting two non-profit organizations: Roy Maas Youth Alternative/Centro Segura and Ransomed Life. Each focus on healing and restoration for young boys and girls impacted by Domestic Minors sex trafficking here in the San Antonio area." The boys and girls aged 11-18 years old are being provided with counseling and mentoring and referral care by these agencies. At our District Conference toiletries and toys will be used to fill backpacks for these boys and girls as they come into these organizations.  We donated these cute unicorns.  Thank you Allyson Hamlin for spearheading our donation to this worthy cause!
