President Elect John Legris introduced our guest speaker today, Pat Whitty, who calls himself a Modern Elder Whisperer. The “whisperer” phrase was made popular by the Horse Whisperer who is a person who has a unique understanding of the emotional and psychological needs of horses. Through his own study of health, aging, and his own transition to a Modern Elder, Pat has a unique understanding of the emotional and psychological needs of elders. Pat's topic today is Lifelong Transformation, One Healthy Habit at at Time. Pat shared his story of how he transformed his health and his life at age 77 and share the lessons he’s learned on that journey. He gave us many personal stories from his life and how he regained his health and renewed energy.  He compared youth and aging and how we can regain the joy in our lives through healthy living.  He stressed the need for healthy sleep and good eating habits that will help restore vitality in our lives and help us enjoy life again.
Pat offered to shared his ebook - just send him an email at: pwhitty@mac.com

Umbrella Time
Mary Denton owns the umbrella this month.  She says that here in San Antonio we have an abundance of qualified buyers and a severe shortage of homes for sale. "The housing market's great in San Antonio."  She heard Mark Dotzur speak recently, former chief economist from Texas A&M University who said that it's not people in Washington who drive home prices but it's supply and demand. Mary's winning bid goes towards her Paul Harris Fellowship.

Fun Facts from Wine History
President Elect John Legris continues with fun facts from wine history.  In 200 CE The Romans began to use the screw press to crush grapes to make wine. In 1630 began the manufacture of glass wine bottles. In 1851 a Chilean industrialist imported cuttings from French vines to grow in his own country.  John says he likes Chilean and Argentinian wines. He and his lovely wife Chihiro are enjoying Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon 2018. We're considering moving happy hour to John's home!
