Girl Scout Troop 43 was on hand today selling cookies!  This unique Troop consists of 15 homeschooled girls and they meet at the Girl Scout Headquarters. Girl Scouts in the US helps girls build confidence and character. When asked what were their favorite activities they listed: A trip the Snake Farm, Volunteering at the Food Bank, the Food Drive at HEB where they helped pack 995 bags with 496 lbs of food.  They also took a night trip to the San Antonio Zoo. Cookie sales help support the local counsel, help earn trips to camp and help support STEM Workshops. The girls work on badges and learn about managing money. These girls are cookie experts! In the fall the girls sell nuts and candy. The girls reported that the #1 cookie sold is Thin Mints. Troop Leader Melissa Caplinger led the girls in the:
Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be
honest and fair
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
to be a sister of every Girl Scout.
A book will be donated in honor of our guests to the Locke Hill Elementary School Library. Thank you, Troop 43 for coming to our meeting today!  We wish you much success with your cookie sales! We hope that our purchases helped get you closer towards your goal!
