Our program today was provided by Pam Goble, Owner / CEO of Ability Home Care and Christy Esobar, Director of Therapy. Ability Home Care is focused towards providing medical home care to children. Their services include private duty nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. They have 95 therapists on staff, each typically supporting 15 children, depending upon the medical needs required, with an average support duration of 32 to 36 month for a patient. The age of the patients ranges from birth to 20 years of age with an age limit of 21 years old. Support functions provided include walking, balance, core control, etc. Ability helps the families get diapers, milk, and other support material for the child. Ability gets referrals from local doctors and they work with the families to apply for medical financial support sources.
Ability Home Care is always looking for more therapists as they cover all of Bexar County in their support area. Incarnate Word Univ and the UT Health Science Center provide some of the medical talent pool they draw upon.
