James Daniel and his wife Eloise just returned from their cruise to Cuba. They enjoyed an art exhibit and some fine Cuban food.
Ken Ruiz was happy to have his sister visit recently.  He also reported that he recently saw a woman walking and felt led to ask her if she needed a ride. She replied that she just needed to go to HEB. Along the way she revealed that her car had been impounded. Ken decided to help her out, never dreaming that it was in Pearsall. Ken gathered that the woman had encountered some hardships and  Ken was happy to offer a helping hand. Ken said, "We never know the difference we can make in someone's life."

Mary Denton reported that she recently discovered that her cousin, who is disabled, is in need of some home repairs. She is hoping with her connections she will be able to locate the help he needs.

Gloria Richter is donating books for the month of May. Elizabeth Garza, the librarian of Locke Hill Elementary, recently spoke to our club. She reported that soon Title 1 children will be attending and they are in need of Spanish language books.  Gloria heeded the call!  Here are some of the books she is donating. Thank you Gloria for your thoughtful donation!
