Barry Abrams shared that he emailed drafts of the New Scholarship Policy and Application to several members of the Club. He needs approval that all the changes are correct. He would like to have this finalized very soon in order to post the Application on our website for students wishing to apply.
 
Gloria Richter announced that on Feb 13 the Girl Scout Troop - whose members are all home schooled - will be visiting our Club and selling Girl Scout Cookies. Hope they bring enough!
 
Destiny Mujica shared more info on the Earn-A-Bike program: It is an education based curriculum aligned with the TEKS, which are the state standards of what students should be learning. The 3 metrics Earn-A-Bike uses are attendance, behavior and course work.When they are awarded their bike they must build it from scratch with the help of volunteers. Parents are enrolled in workshops. The summer program is an adaption of the traditional program.  Destiny shared that Ken Donoughue opened the door for her to speak to the Pleasanton Rotary Club.  The School Superintendent and Parks Director were present at the meeting.  The Pleasanton School District will now have an Earn a Bike Program!
 
Ken Donoughue shared that on Feb 20 Elizabeth Garza at Locke Hill Elementary School will be presented with a check from our Club to purchase Spanish Language books for the school library.
Also there are volunteer opportunities at the Learning Tree Program at the school to read to children. Hours are from 4:00 pm - 4:55 pm.  More details to come....
 
Recently James Daniel recently had out patient surgery. Bil Trodlier reported that he is doing better.
