Ken Ruiz owns the umbrella for January and February. At first Ken said that he was "speechless" and it was clear that no one believed him. He said that he joined Oak Hills Rotary Club in 1988 and President Fred was his accountant. He shared that whenever he is asked how he is doing he always answers: "I'm blessed." He feels that response has an impact on people's heart and soul. "Rotary is a blessing," he said. This month he was diagnosed with epilepsy, a cognitive disorder. He shared that when he left San Antonio and move to Florida he was leaving "the best Rotary Club" and had no desire to join another Club. As it would happen, he would cross the path of Past District Governor Frank Devlin. It seemed that there was still work to be done in Rotary for Ken so he joined the Westin Rotary Club in Florida and eventually became President.
