Prayer, Pledge and Visitors
The meeting opened with the ringing of the bell by President Rick Tarbell. Ken Donoughue led us with a prayer and the pledge. Vice President John Legris introduced our Speaker Maya Smith, Executive Director with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio.  Our guests, Rev Reed McNitzky, guest of President Rick Tarbell, Bob Shero, guest of Bil Trodlier, and Jerry Hardy, District 5840 Foundation Chair.

    Umbrella Time
    Derek Matthys, who owns the umbrella this month, was not at the meeting today so we didn't have Umbrella Time. Derek's winning bid for the umbrella goes towards his Paul Harris Fellowship.  He is also fine free as long as he owns the umbrella.

    Morgan's Wonderland More Delightful than Frightful is October 31!  NOTICE! All participants MUST get a background check - forms are available each week at our meetings or if you wish, Mary Denton will send a copy to you via email.  Guests are asked to bring 4 non perishable food items to benefit the San Antonio Food Bank.     Ride to End Polio
    District Governor John Hutcherson will Ride to End Polio on November 23 in Tucson Arizona! He will join Rotarians from District 5500 and around the world as they challenge themselves to ride up to 100 miles to raise funds in the Ride to End Polio, part of El Tour de Tucson 2019.     Coffee Friday
    Join us at the Alamo Biscuit Company located at 9630 Huebner Road.  We usually meet the second Friday of the month.

    Happier Hour
    Come join us at the Flying Saucer on Huebner Rd at 5:30 p.m.  Derek Matthys says "the earlier the better!" Come join your friends and unwind on Oct 17!  Typically the third Thursday of the month.
     
    Four Way Test
    President Rick Tarbell closed the meeting and led the members with the Four Way Test.
