President John Legris welcomed guest (and soon to be inducted as new member) Kenneth Black, guest speaker Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar and club members to the "Friendliest Club in District 5840!"
 
Ken Donoughue led the group with a prayer and the pledges.
 
President Legris continued the tradition of announcing the National Days and This Day in History.

There was the one about a Kindergarten teacher and another one about an exasperated mother.  We were all in stitches!
 
Club Luncheon Program
Immediate Past President Rick Tarbell introduced guest speaker Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar. Please click HERE and read his educational and professional background!  He is a San Antonio native.  Sheriff Salazar joined SAPD when he was 21 and served in SAPD 23 years prior to being elected.  He was sworn in as sheriff in 2017. Currently he is trying to reorganize the agency to better control organized crime.  
 
Sheriff Salazar, thank you for speaking to our club today! A book will be donated in your honor to the Locke Hill Elementary School Library!  Sheriff Salazar expressed interest recording of himself reading a book and donating it to the library.  He also expressed an interest in joining us in person when we meet again at the Outback Steakhouse.

Club Business
President Legris announced the good news that we will return to the Outback Steakhouse on March 31! The agenda will include the induction of Kenneth Black as our newest member. We will also induct two members as Paul Harris Fellows!  
 
Treasurer Fred Timmons is asking everyone who is a Paul Harris Fellow to please wear your Paul Harris medallion for this meeting.
 
District Annual Raffle
Treasurer Fred has the District Raffle Tickets supporting the Rotary Foundation. You may pick them up at his office. From the district website: "There will be 7 drawings and there will be 7 prepaid $1000 Frost Bank Cards for the prize. The third ticked drawn the prize will go to the seller of the ticket to give incentive to sell tickets."

Board to Meet
The next Club Board Meeting will be March 25 at 11 am. This will be a zoom meeting. All club members are welcome, however President Legris requests that all non board attendees listen only since there will be a full agenda.  Any members who have a request or concern for the board should contact President Legris.  His email address is:  legris@sbcglobal.net

Just in case you may missed the last Town Hall Meeting with Dr. Sylvia Whitlock, please watch and hear her inspiring story!  She made news because she was the first female Rotarian.
